There has been a lot of coverage recently on "Ugly Americans".

Did anyone read it?

Do you know any "Ugly Americans"?

I know a few, but one in particular comes to mind. If I mentioned...."arrogant, loud, ignorant and totally self-absorbed.", would this bring anyone to mind? LOLOL.

Regular readers of this message board will know one "Ugly American" at least. Why is it that Americans are allegedly universally regarded as ignorant and arrogant? I found this article on the web today, written by an American. He could easily have been describing the Village Idiot, which sometimes blemishes this noticeboard with its bile.

Accordng to the article, the "Ugly American" stereotype is alive and well and a major headache for executives traveling the globe to build relationships, not destroy them. That's why Keith Reinhard founded Business for Diplomatic Action, a nonprofit working to improve America's image abroad.

According to another source, "All too often, Americans traveling abroad project an image of pouty, complaining divas, too ignorant and narrow-minded to realize how foolish they look. They don't know any languages except English, possess an atrocious sense of geography and demonstrate almost no understanding of other ways of life."

Now does that remind you of the Village Idiot? LOLOL.

Think Big, But Act Small.

In many countries, any form of boasting - particularly about salary - is considered rude. When an American introduces himself, his job--and its implied status--plays a key role. Abroad, however, this is often seen as bragging.

Think Locally

To find common ground with your colleagues overseas, find out a little about the popular culture. Ask for the names of a few popular singers, actors or sports heroes. Don't assume that anyone abroad is interested in the World Series or the Super Bowl.

Read A Map

Yes, there are a lot of those countries ending in "stan." But that's no excuse for you to forget which one you're in. Make sure you understand the geography of the place you're visiting to avoid making insulting mistakes.

I have been to America many times and always enjoyed myself there....unfortunately we have one Idiot on this forum who conforms completely to the description of an Ugly American....it knows who it is...

Any by the way VI, I don't need to boast about my salary, as I am an entrepreneur and am independently wealthy - hence I spend my time as I want.:-)

Hi Everyone,
nice videos, it shows that Ukrainian people have a good sense of humor. It's all good clean fun!
I am an American living near Chicago and I can assure all who read this that 95% of us Americans here are normal decent and caring people. I trust that you are wise enough to identify a nut job who might be in that 5% when you see it.
As an American Christian I respect all men and woman no matter their race or country of course there is only one God. I don't have much respect for a fool.
Anyway, please don't judge us Americans based on a few stupid jerks out there.
Ukrainian women are very intelligent, they can also identify a wacko a mile away. If ever I came to visit Australia I would give all my respect to the people and culture and consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to be there.
I joined Anastasia international and through emails have already met my soul mate. I went for inner beauty but am happy to say she has also great outer beauty :-)
I used a strategy to find her out of 1500 emails I received in 6 months. Based on their profiles I choose 30 girls emails to open and all were very fine emails. Then I wrote all 30 and told them all the truth about myself like my age 44 and Im divorced with 3 daughters and average income. I also asked all 30 girls 5 important questions, like do you believe in God? would you join your husband in his church and attend bible study, could you accept a man divorced with 3 children at age 44? Would you accept a man with a average middle class job? and are you willing to wait and be faithful the long months during a fiancee visa process of a long distance relationship?
All 30 said yes to my questions except the question about my church and bible study. Only 2 girls agreed to that and for me it's important you can ask your own questions. Then out of the 2 girls one girl's emails were much more tender and long and detailed, answering more of my questions specifically and asking me her own detailed questions like a normal down to earth real person. BINGO she is the one. We have been write emails now 3 months and it is going very very well. I like her first for her inner beauty. I hope to go to Ukraine soon and meet her and her family.
I just want to encourage you guys that if I can meet a great girl out of 1500, knowing very sure she is real and that I have a great chemistry with her, then so can you. I hope this letter will help someone out there who needs a little encouragement and to dispel any thoughts that American's are all stuck up jerks.

I loved it! I hope there will be more. Very creative and great acting... :) I couldn't even tell she was reading from the teleprompter (okay, I make joke).

I want to be in the next video. Maybe, the Anastasia Girls are so HOT they are responsible for Global Warming?
